The Unfurling
Project type
Mixed Media on Canvas
Date
2026
An imagined organic form emerges from a richly textured landscape of deep turquoise, bronze and earthy gold. Layered materials, intricate mesh and sculptural surfaces evoke something mystical, a fossil, a nautilus or maybe an undiscovered creature from the deep.
A sweeping tendril extends beyond the canvas, breaking the boundary between painting and sculpture and giving the work a sense of movement and transformation.
The Unfurling explores the beauty of emergence — the moment when something concealed begins to reveal itself. Neither entirely botanical nor marine, the form invites the viewer to discover their own interpretation within its textures, shapes and intricate details.
